EBONY: PICO'S ADOPTABLE DOG OF THE WEEK

This little German Sheperd mix is adorable. She's about 4 months old and was rescued from the South LA shelter. Good with cats, dogs, kids and all that jazz. Ebony was rescued by the awesome folks at The Paw'd Squad.


And . . . because I know the song is in your head now, a little Stevie Wonder/Paul McCartney action. I had not realized until today just how bad this song really is.

PICO'S ADOPTABLE DOG OF THE WEEK-BRETT!

I've been slacking on the adoptable dog postings. Big time. Last night I'm sitting on my couch minding my own business when that god damned Pedigree commercial comes on! You know the one with David Duchovny as the voice of the homeless dog. I dove for the remote but it was too late . . . . 3 seconds later I was crying. Seriously people, who buys dogs? That's just wrong! RESCUE!!!!

Brett - He's a wee thing and was rescued by The Paw'd Squad via the Pasadena Humane Society. Looks to me like he's got some pitt bull in him and he's a pup so there is some serious potential for the sweetest cuddler ever. Check out other dogs at The Paw'd Squad.

PICO'S YEAR END GIVING GUIDE

PICO'S ADOPTABLE DOG OF THE WEEK-BRONWEN

This little one has the cutest ears I've ever seen. She'd be like your own personal short wave radio. She's a dachshund/basset hound mix, weighs about 25lb and is 6 months old. Bronwen needs a home with another dog so she can start her plan of world domination by superpowered ears. She was rescued by the Bill Foundation.

PICO'S ADOPTABLE DOG OF THE WEEK-JOSIE

Our dog this week comes from The Bill Foundation (the great people that rescued our mascot Katie). Josie is an 8 year old dachshund mix and the cutest little thing on 4 legs that I've seen in a while.

"She is very well behaved and house trained and she just can't wait to be
somebody's little companion! Josie is a very unique looking little dog with
a wonderful personality. Everyone that meets her loves her instantly."

PICO'S ADOPTABLE DOG OF THE WEEK-PHAROAH!

I first noticed this little guy when posting the Bowling For Collars event. I was surprised to find that he is still up for adoption so many weeks later. I don't get it, he's adorable and his eyes are killing me softly. Plus homeboy is crate trained (I've been working on crate training my mutt for 4 years). And what a mug on this little guy! Mr. Mugs is a 1 1/2 year old American Staffordshire Terrier/Great Dane mix and he is just beautiful! Check out his story here. He's been waiting for new parents since January so spread the word. This little guy reminds me of my neighbor dog Frank. Frank rocks! So if Shamus is half as cool as Frank, then his new owner will be stylin. Shamus is 8 months old and a big love bug. Check him out at the Paw'd Squad Animal Resuce website.

BOWLING FOR COLLARS!

We here at Pico have a special place in our hearts for rescued mutts. Our resident pitt bull mix/lovebug/sausage rocket, Katers was herself adopted. So, when we saw that The Paw'd Squad (rescuers of this cute little mug shown above) is having a bowling fundraising event we had to mention it.

WHEN: Sunday May 20th at 1:00-3:00 p.m.
