"Your feature presentation: two movies made entirely of awesome."
I think David Cornelius of efilmcritic.com summed it up best. I happened to catch this movie the night it opened with the cast and Mr. Tarantino which is pretty much like attending a Bears game and sitting next to Walter Peyton. Mr. Cornelius's full movie review .
"Of course, no matter which way they play, the best part of this whole project is that we get two excellent filmmakers trying to one-up each other, resulting in two wildly different yet equally giddy valentines to cinematic sleaze. “Grindhouse” is a glorious movie experience, two brilliant movies slammed together in a two-for-one bonanza. It is, oh yes, just so damn freaking cool.''

I wish I could see Thanksgiving...and Machete. That would be awesome.
Al, there is talk of turning Machete into a full feature. Unfortunately, because people suck, no one went to Grindhouse, and now our dreams of watching Machete on the big screen have been destroyed.
Remains to be seen - perhaps breaking Grindhouse up into two standalones might prove to be more successful, commercially...
I think you're right there, which kind of makes that movie going experience even more special.
