Four Bucks in a Cup

This morning I paid more for a cup of coffee than for a gallon of Los Angeles priced gas. And it wasn't some extra shot, chocolate syrup, grande concoction that justified its price through its "special" "additions." What I bought today was a four dollar cup of drip coffee. Plain, regular coffee.

For four dollars.

And I'll admit that it was really good coffee. Delicious and almost sweet. Marketing-friendly words like 'full-bodied' and 'smooth' were accurate, truthful descriptions of this coffee. It was, just as iwriteplays predicted it would be, the best drip coffee I've ever had.

But it still cost four dollars. And coffee, to me, is coffee. Yes, it is elixir of life. Yes, it is half the reason I get out of bed in the morning (carbs being the other half). But if I'm going to spent four bucks on a beverage, I expect there to be alcohol in it.
